I really haven't been up to much, the only things I've done are read, bake and search for jobs. In my search for new books I found GoodReads, this awesome website where you rate books and get recommendations for books you might like. You can also join book clubs and just browse through their summaries and reviews of pretty much any book you can think of. One of the books that I found through here and that I recently read and I absolutely loved is called "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. It's the story about a German girl during WWII and it's narrated by Death, who is obviously personified in this book. To quickly sum it up, I'll use a quote from the book.
“It’s a small story really, about, among other things:
* A girl
* Some words
* An accordionist
* Some fanatical Germans
* A Jewish fist fighter
* And quite a lot of thievery”
The story is so beautiful and touching that I actually cried my eyes out for the last few pages of the book and that is saying a lot since I've cried with only one other book. I most definitely recommend it!
In terms of baking I've made quite a few pies and cakes and even some cookies. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of most of them because I'm too lazy to do that. However, I did take a picture of the cakes I baked for my mom and dad's birthday in September and some cupcakes I made for my little cousin's Minnie Mouse themed party at the end of July or beginning of August (I can't exactly remember when her party was but her birthday is in July).
