Mushroom^3 Ravioli

Today I decided to make mushroom ravioli. However, I LOVE mushrooms so I decided to take my mushroom ravioli to the extreme!

To make this delicious mushroomy dish you will need:
*1 package of Trader Joe's Portobella Ravioli (or any other mushroom ravioli)
*1 package of white mushrooms
*1/2 can of cream of mushroom
*Salt to taste

Preparation directions:
*Add water to a pot and bring to a boil. Add the ravioli and wait for it to cook.
*While the ravioli cooks itself, spray some olive oil on a pan and add the mushrooms. Sautee them until they're soft and ready.
*When the ravioli is ready, drain the water and put the ravioli back in the pot.
*Then add the sauteed mushrooms (juice and all) into the pot, add 1/2 can of cream of mushroom and about a cup of water to make it less thick.
*Heat everything for like 5 minutes or until the sauce is hot enough or begins to boil.
*Then remove from the stove and serve.

Makes a lot of servings. (Don't know how many, depends on how much you eat)

Here's a pic of my MUSHROOM^3 Ravioli!!

Enjoy! Ciao! Chow!

DISCLAIMER: I'm by no means a legit chef, so my recipes might not be that accurate and if your food does not taste as good as mine, it's not my fault either. Kthanxbai.

Chili for a Chilly Day

I know, I'm obsessed all over again with my blog so I decided that in addition to my "day in the life" and crafty posts I will also post about food I make and feel accomplished about. This includes everyday stuff and baked stuff.

My first food feature will be some chili I made for this oh-so-chilly day. Basically you just stick all of the ingredients in a pot and wait til it's hot.

For my chili I used:
*1 can of black beans, undrained
*1 can (I used the black bean can to measure) of my own homemade pinto beans
*1 can of plain tomato sauce
*1 packet of chilli seasoning mix (which is basically chilli powder, onion powder and whatnot)
*1/2 can of white corn (just to make it yummier, this is completely optional)
*1 tablespoon of sour cream
*some shredded cheddar cheese to top it

This is my chili! Yum!

I like big BOWS and I cannot lie...

On Saturday, I was browsing through my favorite craft website, coincidentally called Craftster, and I saw a post with an awesome headband with a bow. It was love at first sight and I decided to make it since I had just finished my last project. The pattern is from another fellow blogger and can be found here. I only made a small modification since I wanted a larger bow. Did I mention I love bows?! I made the strip for the bow 10 inches long instead of 8 as the pattern instructed. And voila here is my awesome headband!

And a picture of me with the headband!

Crafts, crafts and more crafts!

One of my resolutions for 2011 was to make more crafts/ be more crafty. I can safely say that that was probably the only resolution I kept. I know, sad day. Anyway, here are some pics of my wonderful creations!!

First off, are some pj pants and shorts. They're made out of flannel and I used some Butterick pattern, I think. The shorts are have an orange and pink pattern and the pants have crabs, fish and turtles (or as my mother said, "seafood") on a blue background/ the sea.

Next is a cute turtle I cross-stitched. This was just some random kit I bought simply because it was a turtle. It now proudly hangs on my bulletin board. :) Sorry for the crappy pic!

Last but not least is a scarf and headband set I just finished yesterday. The yarn is a homespun yarn and the ribbing for the scarf is 5 knits and 5 purls and 2 and 2 for the headband and the bow. And of course it has a bow, it's my signature thing!

2012...ahhhh the World is Endingggg!!!

So it's been a year since I wrote my last blog post and the first thing I saw were my resolutions from last year...so this is what did or did not happen:

1. Exercise more often.... sort of...
2. Do well in school...yeah, I did ok, maybe even a little better than ok.
3. Cook real food more often... if I have time....ha! are you kidding me? i ate out almost every day last semester... FAIL!
4. Read more books (not school related) ...yeah, i guess i did
5. Craft more...(this is also if I have time...or during the summer) i made lots of pajama pants!
6. Become the Krazy Coupon Lady... muahahaha (just kidding :P, I guess what I mean is manage my money better and try not to spend a lot and save money for #7) oh hell yeah! i'm freaking obsessed with couponing right now!
7. Go to Paris to visit Madina!!! (I'm actually already saving up and I think it's gonna happen!!!)... as i predicted, this did not happen, unfortunately.
8. Improve my French... NO
9. Speak up more in classes...maybe a little? i honestly don't keep track of how much i talk in class...
10. Get married....hahahaha juuuuuust kidding!!! I actually ran out resolutions and wanted to post 10, so I totally made this one up cuz I thought... if I'm gonna make one up, it might as well be funny, no?... i sure as hell did NOT get married!
11. Blog more often!!!....hahahah sure as HELL did NOT happen. it's 2012 and this is the next blog post after that one.

So yeah it's been a year since that post. My resolutions are more or less the same except I have a new one:

12. Get a freaking job after I graduate!! No, in all seriousness, I do need to find a job. Preferably in NYC.

I think that's all for now. I might post later some of my crafty projects I've completed recently... Oh also, I think I'm going to post recipes and pictures of stuff I cook in order to motivate me to post more! :)
